Brief Introduction
The Fishbone Digital Learning Design (FDLD) platform is an intelligent, gamified, and collaborative digital tool designed to support educators and instructional designers in creating structured, efficient, and engaging courses. Built around a visual fishbone diagram framework and aligned with Bloom’s Taxonomy, FDLD enables systematic planning of learning outcomes, strategies, assessments, and resources. The platform offers real-time co-design, a template marketplace, AI-powered assistance, and multi-format exports. It addresses challenges in digital course design by simplifying workflows, increasing interactivity, and promoting teacher collaboration.
How it is being developed
The FDLD platform is developed using a Node.js architecture with front-end and back-end separation. It integrates React for an interactive interface, WebSocket for real-time collaboration, and uses MongoDB and Redis for data storage and caching. Key features like drag-and-drop design and AI-assisted tools are being continuously upgraded.
Expected outcome
The expected outcome is a user-friendly, intelligent course design platform that enables educators to quickly build structured, engaging, and personalized course outlines using a visual fishbone diagram. The platform will feature AI-powered assistants, real-time collaboration, a resource/template marketplace, and multi-format export options. It aims to become a widely adopted tool in digital education, improving instructional quality and efficiency across institutions.
