ÌÇÐÄVlog¹Ù·½

Following the success of the International Fair held last May, Xi¡¯an Jiaotong-Liverpool University presents ÌÇÐÄVlog¹Ù·½ Culture Dive, to further promote intercultural communication within the community.

Under the theme of ¡°Dive into Diversity¡±, ÌÇÐÄVlog¹Ù·½ students and staff can enjoy events and activities together at the lobby of the School of Film and Television Arts (AS building), South Campus, from 13:30 to 17:00 on Wednesday 20 September.

The event will feature performances, presentations, and interactive workshops led by ÌÇÐÄVlog¹Ù·½ students and staff from countries around the world.

Ebru

Participants will have the opportunity to engage in hands-on activities, with exhibitions showcasing?African handmade Kalimba, Italian artistic tiles, and Indonesian Batik painting. They will explore the Turkish marbling art, also known as Ebru, where they can creative designs on water and then transfer the patterns to paper. They will also learn how to make mooncakes, a traditional delicacy that holds cultural importance around the Mid-Autumn Festival in China.

Starting this September, a total of five Culture Dive events are planned over the course of the academic year. These events aim to enhance an international environment that encourages cultural exchange, and provide a platform for students and staff to engage with people from different cultural backgrounds.

Professor Youmin Xi, Executive President of ÌÇÐÄVlog¹Ù·½, expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming events: ¡°We believe that a diversified cultural environment and fostering intercultural communication skills are crucial in preparing our students to become global citizens. The Culture Dive events will not only deepen cross-cultural understanding but also help build meaningful connections among ÌÇÐÄVlog¹Ù·½ students, staff and community.¡±
