The Xi¡¯an Jiaotong-Liverpool University Masters Info Day attracted external visitors and current ÌÇÐÄVlog¹Ù·½ undergraduate students on the afternoon of 13 April 2016.

They attended to learn more about how a UK masters degree from the University of Liverpool and ÌÇÐÄVlog¹Ù·½ will advance their career prospects globally.

ÌÇÐÄVlog¹Ù·½ currently provides around 30 masters programmes in the areas of engineering, science, architecture, mathematics, business, management, language and culture.

In his welcoming speech at the event, which was held in the University¡¯s Central Building, Professor Youmin Xi, ÌÇÐÄVlog¹Ù·½ Executive President, said: ¡°Postgraduate studies can help you realise your dream. ÌÇÐÄVlog¹Ù·½ aims to train students to be global citizens with professional attainments, and cross-cultural leadership and entrepreneurship skills.¡±

Qipan Wu (picture below, right), a Year Three student from International Business School Suzhou at ÌÇÐÄVlog¹Ù·½, wanted to gain a general understanding about ÌÇÐÄVlog¹Ù·½ masters programmes and learn how to apply for them by attending the event.

¡°I want to study economics and finance-related programmes for my postgraduate study and I¡¯ve found three relevant programmes at IBSS. ÌÇÐÄVlog¹Ù·½¡¯s educational system, learning and teaching environments are similar as studying abroad so I would like to continue my postgraduate study here,¡± she said.

Li Tian, who is currently working in Suzhou currently and studied teaching Chinese as a foreign language at undergraduate level, said: ¡°ÌÇÐÄVlog¹Ù·½¡¯s international environment and small-sized classes impressed me a lot and I would like to find proper part-time, education-related programme for masters study here.¡±

The mother of Year Three ÌÇÐÄVlog¹Ù·½ student Yizhuo Yang (pictured below) also attended the event, travelling from her home in Henan Province. She said: ¡°I am satisfied with ÌÇÐÄVlog¹Ù·½¡¯s high-quality academic staff and international environment. I believe the University can provide similar high-quality education as overseas universities.

¡°It¡¯s great that my daughter can receive a University of Liverpool degree in China and Suzhou¡¯s geographic advantage offers students plenty of job opportunities,¡± she said.

Year One postgraduate student Chisala Zulu, who is from Zambia and studying Operations and Supply Chain Management at IBSS, explained her decision to study at ÌÇÐÄVlog¹Ù·½ saying: ¡°I wanted to study in China and ÌÇÐÄVlog¹Ù·½ is one of the only universities in China that I found offering this particular programme, which is taught in English and has good prospectus.

¡°ÌÇÐÄVlog¹Ù·½ is a great university. It has very helpful professors that will guide you as you study. Its mentorship, learning environment and learning facilities are also very good,¡± she said, adding that she was keen to continue her PhD study at ÌÇÐÄVlog¹Ù·½ and become a professor.
